I actually "met" Madden and Finn when I was at their house photographing their (then) 10-month-old big brother, and mama had just found out she was pregnant again. When I found out later that she was pregnant with twins, I did a little happy dance. Their newborn session is still one of my favorite sessions ever, they were my first twins and I simply love the energy of their little family.
Things I want to remember about these little guys' first birthday storytelling session...
First things first, the most impactful thing for me about this session was how much their mama is a badass. We met at sunrise. She had cakes and balloons and two happy one-year-olds. And she was on time. At sunrise. Later, she bathed two one-year-olds while her two-and-a-half-year-old was having breakfast. I watched her in awe, doing what she probably does every day. Badass.
How Madden was a bit coy and Finn was a bit flirtatious. And Madden snuck some of Finn's cake when Finn wasn't looking.
The meanmug I got from big brother when I woke him up. Me too, Keagan. Me too.
How incredibly fast and completely fearless the twins were as they crawled all over on the master bed. Oh mama look out when they are able to run.
I love simple outfits on kids. I was stoked when mama busted out the jeans and kept them shirtless.
One of my favorite things about my work is getting to grow with families and see kiddos again and again each year, each time bigger and even more wonderful than I can ever imagine they were the last time I saw them. This epic session was no different.
